History

In 1938, the Republican Women of San Bernardino County, as a formal organization, came into existence at the same time the National Federation of Republican Women was being formed. An interesting fact, at this point in time, was that several states had still not ratified the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution which granted suffrage to women of the United States.

Mrs. Verne Hosfelt from Rialto and then Mrs. A.P. Gage from Redlands served as our first Presidents.
